Disabilities and Nudism
Do you wear glasses? Welcome to the world of the disabled! Yeah, a lot of folks are seriously messed up, and a lot are less so to differing degrees. 'Disabled' means that some things are harder or impossible to do; so what?
You wanted to be an astronaut, or a fireman, but that proved impossible. Shall we add a label to that? Or just say that not everyone can do everything that others can do?
So, that stated, there is no reason that disabled folks can't or shouldn't enjoy the social nudist lifestyle! If you can get to the grocery store, you can access many if not all nudist/naturists locations/venues. The only thing stopping you is the usual fear of being 'seen'.

Being seen naked is a common concern that anyone contemplating social nudism has. Add to that the extra concerns that some folks with a disability have every day, and getting naked among strangers can be quite a daunting thought!
You know damn well that if you're disfigured or somehow stand out that you'll be noticed. Ok, now put that out of the way. EVERYONE at a nudist venue is a little bit odd, compared to 'normal' Textile society! For starters, we like to be naked! Your own particular 'oddness' is of no consequence. Many folks with disabilities have discovered, as women do, that our community is the one place where appearance is not the determining factor in people's minds! Now, if you have a lousy personality... well, you might want to work on that! |
Check out some of the following sites, please. There's a whole new world awaiting you that only asks that you give it a chance. You can shed some of the suckieness of life for awhile, promise! (Well, as long as you don't break the remaining leg trying to get through sand in crutches...)
Oh, and on a lessor note... scars, incisions, mastectomies, colostomy bags; they're all there and nobody gives a rat's ass about it!
THIS summarizes it all: "The Heartland Naturists is open to singles, couples, and families of all races, orientations, scars of life, or disability. We strive to accept everyone based on their personality alone." |
Yep, that's naturism in a nutshell!

As with all of our listings, please feel free to let us know if information is incorrect or if you have something to add! For public nude beaches, contact your local natural resources or parks department for information about access and/or available assistance. They may have info not commonly available to the general public without a lot of digging! |
One thing that a disabled person might worry about when thinking about venturing into naturism is how people will view their “naked” disability. “Body image is such a big thing in the 21st century. Most people feel there is something about themselves that is not so wonderful but people find when they get into naturism that no one is bothered about it.” – The Naked Truth
